The Bulldogs completed the doubleheader sweep. Again the 'Dawgs get strong pitching, this time it was by Tyler Simon. Tyler pitched 6 plus innings giving up 2 runs on 7 hits. Clint VanTilborg came in the bottom of the 7th and nailed down the win. Katy Taylor got off to a better start in game 2 scoring 2 runs on 3 hits in the bottom of the 1st. Austin clawed back with single runs in the 2nd and 3rd inning. Both side went cold going scoreless for the next 3 innings. Claton Wall lead off the top of the 7th with a walk and was bunted to second by Luke Mulcahey. Scott Duncan then stepped into the box and pounded a single knocking in the winning run. With the 'Dawgs clinging to a 1 run lead in the bottom of the 7th, Tyler Simon took the mound going for a complete game win. Maybe tiring, Tyler gave up singles to the first two hitters. Coach Pressly went to the pen and called on Clint VanTilborg to secure the victory. The next batter comes up and places a bunt down the 3rd base line and beats out the throw to first. Bases are now loaded with no outs. Clint gets the next batter to hit a weak popout to centerfielder Eric Hughes. Runners do not advance. With 1 out, the next batter hit a sharp grounder to shortstop Scott Duncan. Scott stepped on second for the force and whipped the ball to AJ Glasshoff at first for the game-ending double play.
