February 23, 2008 (vs Stratford Spartans)
Stratford’s 5th-Inning Outburst Too Much for the Bulldogs

The Bulldogs started Game 2 of the Katy Tournament the same as Game 1, jumping out to an early 3-0 lead after two innings. The Spartans got on the board, though, with 2 runs in the top of the third against Bulldogs starter Benn Fairbanks, and then took the lead with 3 runs in the fourth off of reliever Lance Judy. The Bulldogs battled back in the home half of the fourth, scoring 2 runs to tie the game at 5. The Spartans got a single and a walk off of Judy to start the fifth, so the call went to the Bulldogs third pitcher of the night, Kevin Gelfand. After a sacrifice bunt for the first out, the Spartan had things go their way, scoring 6 runs as five straight batters reached base, the biggest blow being a grand slam by Stratford catcher Carson Brown. The ‘Dogs couldn’t get anything going the rest of the way, making the final score Startford 11, Austin 5.
