5th Annual
Bulldog Fall Classic Co-ed Softball Tournament
What?
The AHS Baseball
program will conduct a fundraiser through the Booster Club that raises
visibility of the program, stirs up some school spirit, and encourages student
and family participation.
Why?
Austin Baseball
parents want to help create the best possible environment for the boys to have
a great high school baseball experience. We are one of the top baseball
programs in FBISD and we would like our field and practice facilities to
reflect that. This year we will work to generate the financial support that
will allow us to upgrade our field maintenance equipment and facilities. Our
goal is to raise ~$10K this year. The wish list for the facility upgrades and
other equipment is long, and will not be realized in one year. This tournament
continues to mature into an annual event that encourages community visibility,
support and enthusiasm for Bulldog Baseball, and raises money for the
betterment of the program.
How?
Baseball would like
to hold a co-ed softball tournament in which we will use a 'safety' softball on
a complex with four adjacent fields. Baseball players will be required to find
a sponsor for the team and collect player fees from
their team members. Team sponsorships are $250 and players fees to be
$20/player. Players will get team
t-shirts, sponsors will be recognized on the t-shirts and by name when the team
plays. Committees consisting of baseball parents will coordinate other
activities during the tournament that will most likely include concessions,
Booster merchandise sales, a silent auction, raffle/door prizes and selection
of “Best Dressed Team”.
Format?
Three game minimum
with the winner of each pool advancing to a singe elimination tourney is the
likely format. Games will be played every hour, on the hour - 50 minute games
with 10 minutes between games. Standard co-ed softball rules will be followed -
boy/girl batting; if a boy is walked, the following girl is also walked, etc.

The scheduled date
for the second annual tournament is Friday night and Saturday, November 14/15,

The 2008-2009 Austin High School Baseball Program is busy planning for our Fifth Annual Co-Ed Softball Tournament Classic. The main objective of this project is to raise funds for the enhancement and maintenance of the baseball field and equipment.
As a member of the AHS Baseball Program, we are asking for your support. Our baseball players are working very hard to achieve this goal, but we need your help. We are looking for companies to sponsor teams within this tournament. Sponsorships are available as follows:
· $250.00 Team Sponsorship includes company name on team tournament
shirt as well as announcement of sponsorship at the beginning of each game.
· $500.00 Field Sponsorship includes company name on team tournament
shirt, announcement of sponsorship at the beginning of each game, and a banner to be displayed during the two-day tournament. The banner will be given to the sponsor upon completion of the tournament.
